Job Description

A key role in shaping future operational tools for the regional power system, with visibility across Europe.

We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join the Business Development department and actively contribute to the development, enhancement and implementation of operational tools and services that support the secure and reliable operation of the Southeast European electricity transmission system.

This role focuses on the technical design and development aspects of SEleNe CC’s activities, working closely with internal project coordination roles, vendors, TSOs of the region and other European RCCs. The position contributes directly to the creation of analytical tools, technical studies, and development initiatives aligned with European and regional operational obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Developing new products/tools and services aimed at ensuring power system stability, reliability and the optimal operation of the electrical grid
• Conducting high-level industry research to develop effective solutions
• Contributing to the creation of internal custom software tools for power flow and security analysis computations

• Contributing to the procurement of new software tools, the definition of the relevant requirements, participation in the assessment of offers and vendors’ selection

• Maintaining regular communication with TSOs of the region and other European RCCs to identify future operational needs
• Identifying future development needs in line with relevant European and Regional obligations

Qualifications / Skills

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to operate effectively in technically complex environments involving power system analysis or engineering-driven development activities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (all internal and external communication is conducted in English)
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (365)

Preferred:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with special focus on power system analysis
• Master’s (or PhD) degree is highly appreciated but not mandatory
• 2–5 years of experience in an Electrical Engineering role within the power systems domain
• Familiarity with power system analysis software (e.g. DIgSILENT PowerFactory or equivalent tools)
• Background in optimization techniques
• Programming skills in Python, Java, or MATLAB are highly desirable
• Experience working with TSOs, RCCs, utilities, or related organizations
