The School of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, announces the admission of up to twenty (20) students to its Postgraduate Program (PP) “Chemical and Biochemical Engineering: Health & Food”, leading to a Postgraduate Diploma in “Chemical and Biochemical Engineering: Health & Food” for the academic year 2025-2026 (detailed announcement is attached).
This Program focuses on the application of the basic principles of Chemical Engineering, for the design and analysis of processes, with an emphasis on food and drug production processes and therefore, for the Food and Health industries. Aim of the Program is, on one hand, the training of high-level specialized scientists, capable of staffing any national or international, research, production, or administrative organization, and the encouragement of research in interdisciplinary, regional, and critical areas for Greece and globally, such as health and food. Postgraduate studies are designed to advance knowledge, foster research development, and address the educational, research, social, and developmental requirements of the country. The primary goal is to train highly skilled scientists, who can make significant contributions to both theoretical and applied aspects of specific fields of knowledge, specialized thematic areas, or distinct branches within the academic subjects covered in the initial cycle of studies by the Departments. Furthermore, postgraduate studies aim to facilitate the production and dissemination of knowledge, expertise, methodologies, tools, and research findings in various fields, including but not limited to food, medicine, biomaterials, and related products.
Program Structure and Fees
- Duration: Four semesters
- Semesters 1-3: Coursework and seminars
- Semesters 3-4: Master’s thesis
- Tuition Fees (total)
- EU citizens: €4,000
- Non-EU citizens: €8,000
- Payable in two equal installments:
- Within five (5) days of admission notification
- By September 15 – end of Year 1 of studies.
Eligible Applicants:
- Holders of a first-cycle degree in a relevant discipline from a Greek or foreign Higher Educational institution (e.g., Engineering, Applied Sciences, Health Sciences).
- Final-year students may apply provisionally, provided they submit a Certificate of Completion of Studies; their degree must be submitted to the Program Secretariat upon receipt.
Foreign bachelor’s degrees are academically recognized by the relevant School. Candidates who completed their undergraduate studies abroad are not required to submit a D.O.A.T.A.P. equivalence certificate. Even if such a certificate is provided, the School retains sole responsibility for degree recognition; D.O.A.T.A.P. remains the authority for formal title equivalence.
Submission Period: May 9 – June 30, 2025. Evaluation of the candidates will take place in July.
Classes start the first week of October.
