Upcoming senior research position in Plant Biochemistry at MAICh
Conduct experiments primarily in the area of plant protein biochemistry, with a strong focus
on protein immunoprecipitation, yeast two-hybrid, split-YFP, and proteomics.
Adopt and develop technologies to advance functional capabilities in the areas of protein
characterization, engineering, and protein-protein interactions.
Be an active member of the Genetics and Biotechnology group contributing to innovation
and troubleshooting across disciplines.
Significantly contribute to the characterization of tomato mutant and breeding lines.
PhD degree in the field of Biochemistry or related areas, or a Masters’ degree with significant
relevant prior experience.
Extensive knowledge of protein science, especially in protein-protein interactions and
analytical techniques for characterization.
Excellent use of English language, both written and oral.
Good publication record in international peer-reviewed journals.
Individual must be an EU citizen without needing work authorization sponsorship.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience in plant biochemistry is an advantage.
Experience with plants, especially tomato, Arabidopsis, or olive is an asset.
Two or more years of relevant postdoctoral experience is preferred.
Knowledge of genetics and bioinformatics.
Experience with characterizing plant proteins.
Work experience within an international and multicultural setting.
Excellent use of Greek language, both written and oral.
Experience in mentoring or management.
Excellent publication record with at least two first author publications.
The position is full-time and for 30 months at the Mediterranean Agricultural Institute of Chania in Crete, GREECE.
