IQUADRAT INFORMATICA S.L (IQU) is a technology company founded in 1997, with a focus on delivering System-Level evaluation tools for wireless networks. IQU R&D has been providing global solutions and services in the use of Internet and Telecommunications to companies and institutions that use information and communication technologies in commercial, marketing, management and business communication areas. IQU’s R&D has a focused business plan specifically intended on delivering a “new generation of research tools for system level evaluation of wireless integrated communication systems”. The R&D department is involved in many National and EU-funded research projects, and has extensive know-how in in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), and is also active in the fast-growing IoT paradigm. IQU is also active in many EU funded research projects, related to Wireless Communications, 5G, Smart Grid and IoT.
IQUADRAT ´s R&D department is looking for one Research Associate in the framework of the H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019 SEMANTIC project. SEMANTIC is a newly launched Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) offers fifteen (15) PhD positions in six European countries. The project will work towards the Beyond 5G mobile data network by forming an innovative research and training network for multi-GHz spectrum communications, MEC-empowered service provisioning, end-to-end network slicing as well as data-driven network control and automation.More information on the project can be found here: https://www.semantic2020.eu/
The ESR position is entitled “Data-driven 5G NR parameterization and control” and the successful candidate will work on the development of novel data analysis models, and deep machine learning techniques for 5G and Beyond / 6G networks.
- A master’s degree in electrical, electronics, telecommunications, photonics engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree
- Outstanding oral and writing English skills
- Good knowledge of current technology trends in 5G and Beyond Networks e.g. Network slicing, virtualization, SDN/MEC/NFV.
- Familiarity with AI/ML algorithms, tools and basic workflows.
Salary and appointment terms
The Early Stage Researchers (ESR) enrolments are under very attractive employment conditions and competitive salaries offered in Marie Curie Innovative Training Networks. The period of employment is 3 years. All ESRs will take part in a secondment other project partner for up to 6 months of their appointment period. Candidates may be enrolled, in collaboration with the local supervisor, in a PhD degree program.
Candidates must also meet the following criteria:
1) be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers;
2) be of any nationality, but not having resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 1 year in the past 3 years;
3) have not yet been awarded a PhD degree.
