The Anastassiou Laboratory at the Cedars-Sinai Medical School studies how the molecular and cellular composition of neurons translates to their phenotype and how these properties combine in brain circuits to produce function or, in the case of disease, dysfunction. We develop and use state-of-the-art computational tools to investigate the brain. We collaborate with neurosurgeons and clinicians to deploy new technologies and test our theories in humans.

Topics of interest and research fields:
(1) biophysics of brain computation
(2) human vs. machine intelligence
(3) high-performance computing
(4) translational neuroscience

We are located at Cedars-Sinai in beautiful Los Angeles, California. Join us! We have multiple open research positions for interns, PhD students and postdoctoral scientists for individuals with interest in computational and experimental neuroscience.
